Sheikh Osama Hassan
About the Founder — Shaykh Osama bin Abdul Aziz
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Shaykh Osama bin Abdul Aziz is an Egyptian-born scholar of Qur’anic recitation and the canonical readings (qirāʾāt), and now based in North America. For decades he has dedicated himself to teaching Tajwīd and transmitting the readings with care, clarity, and sincerity—cultivating students who recite the Book of Allah accurately and beautifully. Beyond the classroom, he serves on the advisory boards of several Islamic institutes and masājid, helping shape rigorous Qur’ān programs for the wider community.
Alongside extensive teaching, Shaykh Osama has authored works that make classical texts accessible to today’s learners, including a commentary on Ibn al-Jazarī’s al-Muqaddimah (Tajwīd) and a three-volume, in-depth explanation of Imām al-Shāṭibī’s Ḥirz al-Amānī (the Shāṭibiyyah) on the seven canonical readings. His scholarship, character, and service reflect a lifelong commitment to preserving the Qur’ān as it was received—uniting precise articulation with a heartfelt connection to the words of Allah. May Allah accept and make this platform a means of guidance and benefit.
